Cows and Sunflowers The farm in the distance is prosperous- see all the buildings?- and before it spreads an ecstatic expanse of sunflowers in full bloom, their happy faces following the movement of the sun. Bossy and Elsie the cows, in need of a good milking by the look of those udders, quizzically ponder this beautiful scene, and wonder when the farmer will get around to relieving them of all this pent-up milk. If I didn't know better, I'd say this picture was painted in Italy, with cows and barns imported from Wisconsin.
