The Corner Store This little community is in a stage of transition. Motorized
vehicles (and even a gas station) coexist with horses and cows during this brief
but masterfully painted glimpse of early 20th century life. Notice the antique
shop selling a horse-drawn wagon, a sleigh, wooden wagon wheels, and a spinning
wheel: relics! Times are changing, more houses are being built, and the corner
store appears to be doing a booming business on this late May day, so
exquisitely rendered by Mary Singleton in all the shades of light spring green.
